What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at ferry terminals and waterfront facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, access points, waiting areas, piers, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, and report suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
