Boeing Pre‑Employment Training (BPET) Students – Assembly Structures Mechanics Company The Boeing Company, Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). Overview We are seeking students who have completed Boeing Pre‑Employment Training (BPET) certified courses to join our 787 production teams in North Charleston, South Carolina as Assembly Structures Mechanics. The role requires a variable shift schedule and is performed entirely onsite. Eligibility Open exclusively to students who have completed a Boeing Pre‑Employment Training (BPET) certified course for the Assembly Structures Mechanic role. Application Instructions Applicants must include both a BPET Instructor Endorsement Form and an Updated Resume in the “Resume / CV” section of the application. Primary Responsibilities Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines. Maintain rigorous quality standards to meet or exceed regulatory and company requirements. Successfully complete new hire foundational training and maintain required certifications. Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment. Read, interpret, and complete electronic technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications. Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment for each task. Operate mechanical lifts (ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts). Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdrivers, multimeters, and continuity testers. Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes. Inspect work for quality and check for Foreign Object Debris (FOD). Work around energized electrical sources and constant noise hazards. Use fine finger manipulation for tasks such as keyboarding. Lifting and carrying 10‑35 pounds. Climb, balance, crawl, crouch, and perform other physical actions required by the job. Perform flexion, extension, bending, kneeling, standing, twisting, and walking as needed. Physical Demands and Requirements Variable shift work (first, second, or third shift) based on business needs. Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Work with hazardous chemicals wearing proper protective equipment. Maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications. Use software applications such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and specialized computer applications. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications and complete required training assessments in English. Experience in a manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent military experience. Basic Qualifications Student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre‑Employment Training course certified for the Assembly Structures Mechanic role. Drug Free Workplace Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace. Shift Pattern Variable shift (Shift 4) with placement at time of hire based on business needs. Pay & Benefits Summary pay range: $54,000 – $64,000. Benefits include competitive base pay, variable compensation opportunities, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Specific benefit options depend on eligibility, location, date of hire, and collective bargaining agreements.
