Our organization is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (PRN) to become a part of our dedicated team at the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Speech Language Pathologist will deliver a range of speech-language pathology services. These services encompass screening and assessment, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and thorough documentation across various environments. The Speech Language Pathologist will also engage in program planning and protocol development as needed, contributing to the achievement of established objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts evaluations that include reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and formulating recommendations while documenting results. Communicates evaluation outcomes and treatment plans to patients and their families, involving them in goal-setting.

• Exhibits expertise in executing treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient conditions, and the dynamic healthcare landscape. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary. Identifies and records any changes in the patient's condition that may require adjustments to the care plan or additional consultations.

• Ensures comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately documents and charges for patient care activities, reflecting the patient's treatment journey, including initial evaluations, daily notes, interim progress reports, and discharge assessments.

• Demonstrates effective time management skills and meets productivity standards. Maintains an accurate schedule. Shows a professional commitment to facilitating seamless patient access to care through flexibility, creativity, and empathetic behavior in a patient-centered environment.

• Takes initiative in pursuing ongoing education for personal and organizational growth. Acts as a clinical instructor for students and assists in the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

• Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY).

• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required for your specific location.

• Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of USD $65.00.
