The Assistant Foreman supports the construction manager in day-to-day operations and learns all aspects of the construction business. This entry-level role serves as the managers right hand, providing administrative, technical, and on-site support, while gaining hands-on experience in construction management, project coordination, and customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Support the construction manager with daily operational and administrative tasks.
• Answer emails and phone calls in a professional and timely manner to support project communication.
• Prepare and provide quotes and estimates for construction projects under guidance from the manager.
• Travel with the manager to job sites and participate in on-site meetings with customers and contractors.
• Draft contracts and related project documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Take clear and detailed photos of job sites to assist with surveying and project documentation.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking project information, budgets, schedules, and other data.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively as needed on job sites.
• Assist with spotting and guiding heavy equipment to ensure safe and precise operation.
• Perform data entry tasks, including updating project records and maintaining logs.
• Support project coordination activities, helping to organize resources, schedules, and materials.
• Contribute to concrete-related work and other construction activities as directed.
• Assist with on-site supervision under the direction of the construction manager.
• Utilize construction management tools and software, such as Procore, to support project workflows.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, for email, documentation, and spreadsheet creation.
• Ability to answer and make phone calls professionally and manage communication with customers and contractors.
• Interest in and basic understanding of construction and construction management principles.
• Capability to support project coordination and project management activities under supervision.
• Comfort using hand and power tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to assist with spotting heavy equipment and follow safety guidelines on job sites.
• Strong organizational skills for data entry, record keeping, and contract drafting.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work both in the office and in the field.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn construction management software such as Procore.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft Office suite is highly beneficial.
• Exposure to construction, concrete work, or general labor on job sites is an advantage.
• Familiarity with construction management concepts and project coordination practices is helpful.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software is preferred.
• Supervisory skills or prior on-site supervision experience are a plus.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed project documentation.
• Comfort working with tools such as routers and other power tools used in construction.

Work Environment

The role involves a mix of office-based work and on-site responsibilities at active construction locations. Typical shifts run from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with hours dependent on weather and project needs. Work may include travel to various job sites, and when overnight stays are necessary, lodging and meals are provided. The environment includes regular use of computers, Microsoft Office applications, construction management software such as Procore, and standard office equipment, as well as exposure to outdoor conditions, construction materials, hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bradenton, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
