Here's What You Get to Do The Foreman is the working crew lead and the first level of supervision in the Field track. A Foreman is hands‑on in the work and personally accountable for what their crew(s) installs, day by day. Under the restructured Operations Department, the Foreman also owns the daily quality inspection. Quality is inspected at the point of work, by the person who controls the work, on the day the work happens. This is the single most important change in the new field structure and the defining responsibility of this role. Crew Production Execute the daily work plan assigned at the morning huddle; know what the crew(s) must accomplish before work begins. Assign work to individual crew members and adjust as conditions change during the day. Maintain crew productivity against planned rates; report shortfalls to the Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent the same day. Stage material, tools, and equipment for the next day's work before leaving the site. Keep the crew working — identify and clear obstacles, or elevate them immediately. Daily Quality Inspection — Primary Responsibility Perform the daily inspection. Complete the assigned Procore inspection checklist for the crew's scope, every working day, at the point of work. Inspect honestly. The inspection is a record of actual installed condition. Recording work as compliant when it is not is a disciplinary matter, not a paperwork error. Call rework. Identify non‑conforming work and direct correction before the crew moves on. Covering defective work is never acceptable. Utilize the Procore Observations Tool to note any deficiencies requiring rework, through the Inspections Tool. Verify against approved documents. Inspect against the approved submittal and detail, not against how it was done on the last job. Photograph conditions before they are covered or concealed. Safety Deliver toolbox talks and complete Job Hazard Analyses for the crew's daily work. Enforce PPE compliance within the crew without exception. Stop work immediately for any unsafe condition and notify the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent. Maintain housekeeping in the crew's work area throughout the day, not only at closedown. Confirm fall protection, scaffolding, and ladder use comply with company and OSHA requirements before work begins. Crew Development Train new crew members to competency in the crew's core scope. Identify crew members with supervisory potential and report them to the Assistant Superintendent. Set the standard for conduct and workmanship — the crew works to the level the Foreman accepts. Procore Tool Responsibilities Procore is the single source of truth for all project documentation. The tools below are a required part of this role, not optional. Inspections – Perform daily — primary duty – Complete the assigned checklist for the crew's scope every working day, at the point of work. Photos – Document conditions – Photograph work before concealment and any non‑conforming condition found. Observations – Report field issues – Create an Observation for conditions the crew cannot correct itself. Drawings – Work from current sheets – Hold and work from the current revision; never from memory or a superseded sheet. Submittals – Build to approved product – Know the approved product and detail for the crew's scope before starting. Why You’re a Great Fit For the Role: Required Demonstrated trade competency in at least one core scope: stucco, framing, siding, painting, or waterproofing. OSHA 10 certification minimum. Ability to read and work from shop drawings and approved submittals for the assigned scope. Ability to direct a crew and hold crew members to a standard of workmanship. Ability to use a smartphone or tablet to complete Procore inspections and upload photos daily. Valid Florida driver's license. Preferred Competency in more than one core scope. Prior formal crew leadership experience. Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred for crew communication. Scaffold user or competent person training. Fall protection competent person training. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to walk, stand, and work on active construction sites for 8+ hours daily on uneven terrain. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding to full building height and work at heights without restriction. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching overhead, and climbing. Year‑round exposure to Florida outdoor conditions — heat, humidity, direct sun, rain, dust, and noise. Required PPE worn at all times on site: hard hat, safety glasses, high‑visibility vest, and work boots. Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation between project sites. Performance Standards Performance in this role is measured against the checkpoints below. These are the criteria used in performance reviews and promotion decisions. Daily inspection completed – Daily, every working day – Procore Inspections timestamp Inspection accuracy verified – Weekly spot check – Assistant Superintendent verification; Safety & Compliance audit Toolbox talk delivered – Per schedule – Signed talk record in Procore Crew production against plan – Daily – Daily Log production notes First‑time QA pass rate – Monthly – Procore Inspections and rework records Zero concealed non‑conforming work – Continuous – Inspection audit and closeout findings Career Path Entry into this role Direct from the trades. Demonstrated competency in at least one core scope; OSHA 10 minimum; able to read and work from shop drawings and approved submittals for that scope. Promotion from Field Engineer. An elected move into the Field track, measured against the Foreman gate defined in the Field Engineer job description. Promotion from Material Handler. With demonstrated trade competency in a core scope. Advancement from this role To Assistant Superintendent. 18–36 months, plus all of: daily inspections completed without prompting for two consecutive quarters; crew consistently passes first‑time QA; certified in all Dueall standard scopes; can read and work to the project schedule; has trained a new crew member to competency. Cross‑over to Field Engineer (Project track). Available to Foremen who elect the Project track and can carry the documentation load. A trade background makes a Field Engineer unusually effective. The daily inspection and construction technical knowledge are the measures of this role.
