Salary: 100K-$175K per year
One of the most trusted P&C insurance firms in Manhattan is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager to lead a seasoned 10-person team.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing commercial underwriting operations, managing relationships with 2530 carriers, and ensuring quotes, renewals, and complex submissions are handled accurately and on time. The right candidate will bring strong commercial lines expertise, proven team leadership experience, and the ability to organize high-volume workflow while maintaining strong broker and carrier relationships.
Key Highlights:
- Lead and mentor a 10-person underwriting & servicing team
- Serve as escalation point for complex deals and carrier negotiations
- Improve workflows, formalize processes, and ensure operational quality
- Work directly with 2530 carrier partners
- Report to a collaborative, relationship-focused owner
Requirements:
- 510+ years commercial insurance experience
- 35+ years leadership experience
- Strong commercial underwriting background (not niche specialty/reinsurance -only)
- Multi-carrier or wholesale experience preferred
- Mandarin fluency is a plus
