Serving clients across the Northeast since 1991, they are known for delivering safe, efficient hazard-removal services and creating healthy environments for residential, commercial, and government customers.Location: Boston, MAJob DescriptionOur client is seeking a hands-on Director of Sales to lead, coach, and develop its existing sales team while building the structure and processes needed for the next stage of growth. This leader will inherit a team of three and operate as a player-coach—maintaining some individual sales responsibility initially while progressively assuming full ownership of the sales function.The Director of Sales will establish a formal sales process, guide the implementation of HubSpot CRM, create greater accountability and consistency across the team, and partner closely with marketing and executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings proven sales-leadership experience within commercial construction or a closely related environment and is comfortable building structure in an organization that has not previously had dedicated sales management.ResponsibilitiesSales team leadership — Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of 3 (growing to 4) sales reps with varying personalities, tenure, and selling styles.Player-coach selling — Maintain a portion of individual sales/account responsibility during the transition period while progressively assuming full leadership of the sales function.Sales process development — Build and formalize the sales process in partnership with marketing to create structure, consistency, and repeatability.Lead intake & qualification — Own the intake and qualification of all inbound opportunities, including identifying potential projects through public bid sites and assigning qualified leads to the appropriate rep.CRM implementation — Partner in the migration and build-out of HubSpot as the CRM, transitioning from Insightly and establishing best-practice usage across the team.Coaching & field development — Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and field ride-alongs to understand selling styles, improve performance, and identify development opportunities.Sales performance strategy — Develop strategies to improve sales performance during historically challenging periods (e.g., Q1) and provide leadership with visibility into pipeline health, market activity, and performance metrics.Compensation & Benefits:Base Salary-Commission: Uncapped commissionProjected OTE Year 1: market compensation analysis attached401(k) matchingCell phone reimbursementCompany car for business travelFlexible spending accountHealth & Dental InsuranceHealth savings accountPaid time off
