Business ManagerThe Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland (AIM) seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth administrative operations and providing exceptional support for our Institute.The Business Manager is responsible for the institute's financial operations and personnel management. Specifically: monitor expenditures and initiate transfer of funds; approve and manage procurement purchases/contracts, occasionally provide backup support for general purchasing. The Business Manager will initiate annual budget reports with 5-year projections/forecasts; reconcile monthly financial statements and make adjustments; prepare monthly budget reports.The Business Manager will also perform payroll and budgetary duties; initiate appointment contracts and process payroll for all institute employees; manage travel; assist with facilities requests; provide a fiscally responsible office environment emphasizing teamwork and cooperation.EXAMPLES OF WORK: Supports human resources administration functions. Executes purchasing and procurement. Processes invoices and other financial transactions. Reviews and approves all divisional travel and procurement card logs. Manages all payroll transactions. May manage a team of professional and support staff.
