Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule: Weekends are required. No block schedules are required. Pre-approved time off is limited to 1 day per contract.

Assignment Details: Must have a compact state license at the time of submission. Background checks are conducted, and references are required covering 1 year within the last 3 years.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience.
• Experience with robotic instrumentation, particularly Da Vinci systems, is preferred.
• Certification in sterile processing from CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA is required.
• Trauma Level I experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in sterilization processes and equipment operations is necessary.
• Experience with endoscopy/laparoscopic instruments and fiber optics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate sterilizers and washers, including steam, Sterrad, and Steris systems.
• Monitor biological and chemical indicators for sterilization processes.
• Assemble, wrap, and properly label case carts and instrument sets/trays.
• Perform manual cleaning and ultrasonic cleaning of instruments.
• Handle loaner/consignment trays, implants, and instrument organization.
• Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Compliance / Notes: COVID-19 vaccination is not required. Travelers should be prepared to float between nearby facilities as needed, and refusal may affect guaranteed hours. Staff members must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays.
