Assistant Buyer II

Title or role of function: Assistant Buyer II

Subjection: Senior Buyer

Reports Directly to: Assistant Buyer I

Compensation: TBD/DOE

Specifications of responsibilities:

Purchasing products from local and national vendors and manufacturers.

Maintaining stock levels by means of predetermined reorder points

Fulfilling purchase order requisitions from sales staff

Managing and expediting existing purchase orders to insure a timely delivery. Via phone and/or email

Receiving incoming product into the system from paperwork turned in from receiving department

Managing and expediting direct shipment paperwork to insure receipt by accounting (as needed). Via phone and/or email

Managing and resolving shipment discrepancies and damaged shipments. Via phone and/or email.

Managing price documentation from vendors and manufacturers

Maintaining pricing in the system

Managing price quotes from assigned vendors and manufacturers

Delegating cycle counts to warehouse management

Reporting and/or adjusting cycle count results as needed

Qualifications:

Purchasing and inventory management experience

Multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast paced environment

Computer and Microsoft Office experience

Microsoft Excel skills required

To learn and work with company software effectively

To learn and implement company procedures effectively
