Travel Physical Therapist - Outpatient

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience to treat orthopedic, neuro, and post-surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting.

Job Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a short-term acute care hospital,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM,
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neurological, gait/balance, pain management, and workers' compensation cases,
• Treats pre- and post-surgical patients including post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgery cases,
• Performs manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, instrument-guided soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and neuro re-education,
• Uses Cerner for charting,
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required,
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted),
• PT license required if applicable, must be in hand prior to start date (IN or Compact license accepted),
• Pending state license accepted,
• 2 supervisor references required,
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical rehabilitation preferred,
• Skilled in adaptive devices, gait training, manual therapy, and modalities such as e-stim, ultrasound, and traction,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation of short- and long-term goals,
• Provides patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety/injury prevention,
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays,
• First-time travelers are accepted,
• Local candidates are accepted, with Indiana residents considered local,
• Local candidates may be offered a lower in-state pay rate,
• Past IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler,
• Travelers who have completed 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated break before starting a new assignment,
