Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift travel assignment requiring 3+ years of experience and prior travel experience at a tertiary, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital.

Job Details

• Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs,
• Varied patient population across acute and critical care units,
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care,
• Uses ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm,
• EPIC EMR system used,
• Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,
• 36 guaranteed hours per week including weekend hours,
• On-call requirements with 2-hour notice for oncoming shift,
• Float requirements as RRT including some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care,
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed,

Job Requirements

• RRT certification required,
• BLS required, ACLS preferred, NRP required for NICU coverage,
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience required,
• Prior travel experience required,
• Tertiary, teaching hospital experience required,
• Level 1 trauma center experience required,
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred,
• Driver's license required for consideration,
• Two professional references required,
• License required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across a variety of acute and critical care units,
• Work as part of a large respiratory therapy team covering the entire facility,
• Candidates must be flexible, strong communicators, and effective team players,
• Scrubs provided or flexible dress code,
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local, which may affect pay rate but does not restrict eligibility,
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions,
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with a reasonable amount being 3-4 days for a 13-week contract at the manager's discretion,
