Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 36-48 hours per week. Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track required, with potential for every other weekend coverage. Contract duration of 13 weeks minimum through February 27, 2027.

Highlights:

• High-volume emergency department with approximately 250 visits per day at a 101-bed regional referral and tertiary care center
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5, providing quality care across all age groups and acuity levels
• Float opportunities between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on departmental needs
• Work with state-of-the-art systems including EPIC charting, Pyxis, SBAR protocols, and daily shift huddles
• Comprehensive 24-hour orientation to support your transition into the role
• Collaborative interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required; previous charge experience required
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS, and MOAB
• TNCC certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in IV starts, triage, telemetry, and EPIC charting system
• Experience with emergency medications, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilated patient care, procedural sedation, and managing behavioral health emergencies
• Ability to float between units as needed and maintain flexible scheduling
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
