Capgemini is seeking a Workday Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking Lead to join our rapidly growing Workday practice. In this role, you will serve as a functional lead responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking solutions for global and U.S.-based clients. You will partner with business stakeholders, HR, Payroll, and IT teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and innovative workforce management solutions while helping clients transform their payroll and workforce processes.

This position requires deep functional expertise across Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking, strong consulting and client-facing skills, and the ability to lead workstreams through the full project lifecycle, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

Application Consultants understand the client business process, current and future, and map it to the technologies being used, giving a demarcation of what can be achieved through a standard implementation and what would need customizations or extensions to be done to the application. They may functionally customize the application, partner with application developers to design application enhancements and extensions, and work with business users to implement process changes.   Individual should be able to conceptualize a business or technical solution leveraging colleagues and partners and must mastered at least one methodology in depth and have an advanced knowledge of one or more business domains, and one or more SaaS or package software solutions. This role has wide knowledge of industry innovations and competitor activity and actively engage in, and contribute to, internal and external knowledge developments. Individual has the solution knowledge and consulting skills to lead process improvements,  analysis on business processes andor or IT and can advise clients on the implementation of one or more package modules. This role is responsible for workshop facilitation, integration testing and user acceptance testing. Individual is seen as active member within technology communities. Certifications: maintain certifications on Saas or Package Based solution and relevant methodology‹

Your Role

• Lead functional design, configuration, and deployment of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking solutions.
• Facilitate client workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements gathering activities to understand business, payroll, and workforce management needs.
• Configure Payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, payroll calculations, pay groups, and payroll processing frameworks in alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Design and implement complex absence plans, leave programs, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and compliance-related leave processes.
• Configure and support Time Tracking solutions, including time entry, schedules, overtime, premium pay, shifts, and labor tracking requirements.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients by recommending leading practices and optimizing business processes utilizing Workday functionality.
• Lead solution design discussions and provide strategic guidance regarding Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking capabilities.
• Support integrations, data conversion activities, and cross-functional dependencies with HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Financials workstreams.
• Develop functional specifications, configuration documentation, testing scripts, training materials, and process documentation.
• Manage unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), payroll parallel testing, and deployment readiness activities.
• Support payroll audits, compliance requirements, legal reporting needs, and regulatory changes impacting Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence processes.
• Provide post-go-live support including issue resolution, root cause analysis, system enhancements, and ongoing optimization.
• Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Workday practice.
• Contribute to business development activities, client presentations, solution demonstrations, and proposal responses as needed.
• Leverage AI, automation, and digital transformation capabilities to improve workforce management and payroll operations.

Your Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking solutions.
• Minimum of two full lifecycle Workday Payroll implementations from design through deployment.
• Strong experience configuring Workday Payroll for U.S. organizations, including payroll calculations, taxes, earnings, deductions, and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience designing and configuring Workday Absence and Time Tracking solutions.
• Experience facilitating client workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and solution design discussions.
• Proven experience leading functional workstreams within complex Workday implementation projects.
• Strong understanding of payroll operations, workforce management processes, labor regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting testing activities including SIT, UAT, payroll parallel testing, and go-live readiness.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive stakeholders and client leadership teams.
• Experience creating functional documentation, training materials, process flows, and implementation deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Payroll (USA) Certification.
• Workday Time Tracking Certification.
• Workday Absence Certification.
• Additional Workday certifications in HCM, Benefits, Compensation, or Integrations.
• Consulting experience within a professional services organization.
• Experience supporting large enterprise or global Workday deployments.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Exposure to Workday integrations and reporting capabilities.
• Experience working with AI, Generative AI, automation tools, and digital transformation initiatives.
