Jack in the Box Assistant Manager: Store 3009 Bonsall, CA 92003 – $20.00 – $24.00 / hour – full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC), and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties and Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, ensures training systems are fully implemented, identifies and develops internal candidates for management, and works with the team to execute the “My Promise to You” and the Service Profit Chain. Creates a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment, treats employees with care and respect, motivates and inspires performance, and recognizes achievements. Utilizes JIB systems and complies with all labor laws. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence. Ensures guests receive an exceptional experience through proper training and accountability. Monitors adherence to JIB systems, procedures, food safety and continuously improves guest experience. Maintains visibility, responds to guest concerns, and ensures positive resolution, while upholding brand image through consistent food quality, service, and cleanliness. Higher Profits: Partners with the Restaurant Manager in using management information tools to analyze operational and financial performance, including I&E, quality, service reports, inspection results, HACCP, etc. Identifies trends, consults on action plans, uses data to analyze results, and contacts regional and CSC resources as needed. Develops and executes plans to increase sales and profitability, considers cost/benefit impacts, protects the JIB brand, and monitors costs and budget adherence. Assistant Restaurant Manager Responsibilities Guest Focus: Passionate about high-quality guest experience, understands guests’ perspectives, and ensures consistent, quality service that exceeds expectations. Food Quality/Safety: Strong awareness and concern for food quality, safety, and cleanliness; dedicated to consistently serving great food and conveying importance to the team. Business Management: Willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and change. Supports change initiatives, demonstrates urgency, makes high-quality decisions, delegates work, conducts follow-up, pays attention to detail, and remains well organized. Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum of 1 year as a Shift Leader or 1 year as an Assistant Manager in a customer service environment; must be 100% certified in all workstations. External Recruit: Minimum of 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must be at least 18 years old; complete Assistant Manager training; ServSafe certified; speak, read, and write effectively in English; excellent interpersonal skills; basic math concepts; analytical and organizational skills; self‑starter, initiative, accountability; working knowledge of PCs and software; valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle for deposits and travel; demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk 85–95% of shift; lift/carry 10–65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate restaurant equipment and drive a motor vehicle; operate a computer keyboard.
