Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Month-End Close Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies. Analyze financial results and research account variances to ensure accurate reporting. Ensure accounting records comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies. Financial Reporting Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting requirements. Monitor financial data and provide analysis to support business decision‑making. Maintain organized accounting records and workpapers for reporting and compliance purposes. Audit & Compliance Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested documentation and responding to audit inquiries. Maintain complete and accurate accounting documentation to support financial reporting. Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies. Process Improvement & Systems Support Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency and strengthen accounting controls. Assist with accounting system implementations, ERP upgrades, and process automation initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting processes and data accuracy. Support special accounting projects and other finance initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles. Experience with: Month-end close processes Journal entries and accruals General ledger accounting Balance sheet reconciliations Financial reporting Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting reporting deadlines. Preferred Public accounting experience. Experience supporting ERP implementations, system upgrades, or accounting software conversions. CPA designation or active CPA candidacy.
