Any questions about how this works, just ask.HybridThis position is open to applicants or individuals who are located in Houston, TX and will require 2-days onsite in the Houston office.The Role:The HR Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the People Team, ensuring smooth execution of administrative, employee support, and foundational People processes. This role is highly operational and service-oriented, acting as a key point of contact for employees while supporting programs, systems, and internal workflows.You will provide hands-on support across People Operations, including employee inquiries, timecard management, documentation, program coordination, and office-based responsibilities. This role is critical to ensuring the People Team operates efficiently and that employees have a consistent, high-quality experience.This role is Houston-based and requires in-office presence 2 days per week.What You’ll Do:Manage the People Team inbox, responding to employee questions and routing requests appropriatelyProcess and track timecards for corporate employees and support payroll inputsHandle physical mail distribution, including sorting and routing to Payroll, Benefits, and other teamsSupport unemployment claims and employment verificationsAssist with People programs and initiatives (benefits admin, surveys, engagement activities)Maintain and update employee records and documentationSupport onboarding and offboarding logisticsHelp coordinate employee engagement activities and in-office experiencesPartner with HRBP and People Ops team to support ongoing operational needsWho You Are:Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-throughA service-oriented team player who enjoys helping employeesComfortable handling administrative and operational tasks with accuracyReliable and able to manage recurring responsibilities consistentlyPositive, approachable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environmentWhat You’ve Done:0–2 years of experience in HR, administrative support, or operations (internships included)Strong organizational and communication skillsExperience managing tasks with high attention to detailExperience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, CoPilot & WordAbility to handle sensitive information with discretionBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferredCurrently, Cart.com does not intend to hire candidates who will need, now or in the future, Cart.com sponsorship through any non-immigrant visa category such as the H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, O-1, or TN.All hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States.
