Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant

Location: Abilene, TX
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts/week (8:00 AM 8:00 PM, 7 days/week)
Compensation: $60 $80/hour + bonus

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Abilene, TX . This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy autonomy, variety, and a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong work-life balance.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret labs, x-rays, and other diagnostics
• Perform procedures including suturing and wound care
• Communicate treatment plans and discharge instructions clearly
• Document efficiently in EHR and code visits appropriately
• Maintain productivity aligned with urgent care benchmarks

• Active Texas license (NP or PA)
• Board certified (ANCC/AANP for NP; NCCPA for PA)
• DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• BLS certification
• Comfortable treating all ages
• EHR experience
• Willing to work some weekends and holidays
• DOT certification (or willingness to obtain fees covered)

• Urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)
• Experience with x-ray interpretation
