Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in New York, New York. This role will handle day-to-day financial activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely reporting and tax-related processes. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals and can work effectively across general ledger, journal entry preparation, and corporate tax responsibilities.Responsibilities:• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial activity is captured accurately and on schedule.• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.• Support corporate tax activities, including assisting with tax return preparation and related documentation.• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, tracking obligations, and helping ensure timely filings.• Participate in month-end and periodic close activities to deliver complete and accurate financial reporting.• Analyze accounting data and supporting records to improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather financial information and address accounting questions as they arise.
