Planet Fitness - Assistant General Manager - South Nashville

Position Overview Assistant Manager – Planet Fitness Club – South Nashville, TN Pay: $15.00 – $15.50 per hour. This role assists in overseeing club operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience. Responsibilities Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high‑performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines. Support staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed; schedule and supervise staff to ensure all shifts are covered. Ensure staff consistently provides exceptional customer service and resolve or elevate employee issues or concerns. Process weekly employee payroll as required. Lead by example during all front desk activities: greet members and guests, answer phones, check members into the system, facilitate tours and sign‑ups, and handle member requests. Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the club, including front desk area, lobby, and facility upkeep. Coordinate safety, reporting equipment or facility issues to the Club Manager and Facilities Maintenance. Order supplies within the specified budget. Track club statistics and reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Manage marketing efforts: confirm staff awareness and training on all promotions. Make daily bank deposits as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a gym or retail setting. Current CPR certification. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening skills. Hard‑working, enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about health and fitness. Excellent customer service and problem‑resolution skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shifts. Continual talking in person or on the phone during shifts.
