1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Staffing Lab LLC Principal Owner @ Staffing Lab LLC | Technical Recruiting Staffing Lab represents a client that has asked us to assist in identifying a candidate for a Full Time CNC Machinist for an opening within their organization. CNC Machinist will be responsible for the set up and running of CNC equipment including deburring of parts, and verification of blueprint dimensions. Position is onsite in Farmington Hills, Michigan. First shift position. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints. Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations. Set up and operate machines, including adjusting speeds and feeds, and the use of proper tooling and fixtures. Use full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to determine acceptability of parts. Perform preventive maintenance on machines as required part of PM schedule or calendar. Read programs. Knowledge of GD&T. Effectively and safely operate multiple machines at same time. Other duties as assigned. Other Significant Role Requirements: Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays, on a continuing basis as needed. Ability to deal with frequently changing schedules and assignments. Ability to meet tight tolerances while maintaining acceptable output. Safely and effectively use expensive tooling, fixtures, and equipment. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, routers, and procedure manuals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands Required to stand for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to bend (sandblasting). Adequate dexterity for using various hand tools. Ability to install and uninstall tools, parts, and fixtures from machines. Visual acuity to read directions and prints, and to inspect parts closely to ensure they meet specifications. Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Physical strength to lift and carry 35 pounds occasionally. Supervision: None Customer Focus: This is a highly visible position with a critical impact on the company’s future. Internal and external contacts include all levels of employees within the company, division management, consultants, and other professional business contacts within the industry. External contacts are key to the effective execution of the objectives of the company. Frequently these interactions will involve extremely complex, emotional, and sensitive issues. Success in this area is vital for the development of the existing and future business. Education and/or Experience: 1-5 years related experience and/or training. Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or trade school preferred. Basic math, measuring devices and blueprint reading. Advanced math such as trigonometry preferred .
