What does a Payables Clerk do at Blackdog?

The Payables Clerk will assist our accounting team with processing vendor invoices, entering receipts, and performing other accounts payable support functions. This role is detail-and-process-oriented, with a strong focus on accurate data entry and document management.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Entering vendor invoices accurately into our accounting system
• Processing company credit card receipts
• Matching invoices to any supporting documentation
• Scanning and electronically organize documents
• Maintaining accurate vendor records and filing systems
• Assisting with accounts payable and other accounting administrative tasks, such as class coding / job cost allocations, and vendor statement reconciliations
• Communicating with team members to resolve missing or incomplete documentation
• Providing general administrative support to the Accounting team as needed

Qualifications for our Payables Clerk position:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or administrative work preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Experience with Accounting software (QuickBooks is a plus)
• Data entry experience of invoices and/or receipts
• Comfortable working in a paperless document management environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
• Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information
• Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a collaborative team

Pay, Schedule & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly pay
  • $22.00 - $25.00/hour , based on experience
• Schedule
  • This position is approximately 15-20 hours per week in our Salem, NH office. We offer flexibility in scheduling and are happy to work with the right candidate. (This is an on-site position only. Remote work is not available for this role.)
  • For example: a typical schedule might be 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM for a parent with school-age children; days and hours can be adjusted to fit both your and Blackdog’s needs!
