Maintenance Technician

Senior Maintenance Technician Vanderlande is a global leader in logistics process automation, specializing in automated material handling systems for airports, warehouses, and parcel operations. In this role, you will provide maintenance services across the baggage handling system and passenger boarding bridges as part of the Services division. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling system and passenger boarding bridges in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and manufacturer’s specifications, using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. Exercise safe working practices at all times, complying with Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures. Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance and corrective maintenance. Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective maintenance work orders. Report service calls to management. Advise and execute optimization of sub‑systems, consulting the supervisor, control and propose improvements for the quality of the service process. Analyze system performance. Occasionally monitor the system from the Control Room. Develop service supporting tools and means. Complete CMMS service reports, parts usage and warranty records. Research and request spare parts as required and keep track of inventory. Work independently on preventive maintenance. Identify problems in planning and tooling, providing input for improvements. Independently correct standard faults. Train, instruct, and provide guidance to mechanics. Required Education & Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent. 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance. Experience handling electrical and mechanical drawings. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of material handling experience. Minimum 1 year of CMMS experience. Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Good working knowledge of high and low level control systems. Key Competencies Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Position Type / Hours of Work Full‑time position; 24/7 operation, with overtime, weekend, and holiday work. Salary is approximately $32 – $36 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Work Environment & Physical Demands Technicians work in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields, often meeting strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules. The role requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting or moving items over 50 pounds. Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing are integral to the job. Workers may be exposed to greasy parts, vibration, and various mechanical hazards.
