POSITION SUMMARY
This certificated position provides supplemental intervention services to identified students at risk of not meeting state reading and/or math standards. Services are delivered in collaboration with classroom teachers and the intervention team, primarily in the classroom or a designated intervention area. Small‑group instruction is provided to students with similar academic needs, and individual instruction is provided when appropriate. Research‑based intervention programs and materials aligned with student deficit areas are used. The position is supervised by the building principal and funded by the Title I/LAP program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Skillfully assess and diagnose student reading and math strengths and deficits to set academic goals and inform instruction. Collaborate with classroom teachers and the intervention team to identify the most at‑risk students and determine appropriate intervention programs. Make decisions about the level, frequency, and duration of intervention using an MTSS model. Use a variety of research‑based instructional strategies and methods to support student needs. Utilize progress‑monitoring tools to record growth and adjust instruction. Manage, analyze, organize, input, and report data to demonstrate program effectiveness and student achievement.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Current Washington State Teacher’s Certificate with appropriate subject endorsement(s) Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience in a relevant grade level and content area Demonstrated predominantly distinguished marks as measured by teacher evaluation criteria Criminal background clearance Valid Washington State driver’s license Informed about school board policies and proceduresADDITIONAL AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work‑scheduled hours on a consistent basis Experience working in an intervention position Deep understanding of the CEL5D instructional framework Proven success in an ethnically diverse school district Knowledge of English language developmentCULTURAL COMPETENCE AND EQUITY
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and willingness to learn about others’ identities Ability to establish and nurture a culturally competent and equitable environment Understanding of active accountability for the district’s commitment to “Each Scholar: A Voice. A Dream. A Bright Future.”DURATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is a school‑year role. The employee regularly works in indoor conditions, supports students, and may use hands to manipulate materials. The role requires both small‑group and individual instruction.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
