Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a dynamic Human Resource Generalist in Smyrna, GA . In a Human Resource Generalist job youll be responsible for:

• Talent Acquisition Support: Collaborating with recruiting to post open positions, screen applicants, schedule interviews, compose offer letters, conduct new hire orientations, and handle pre-employment background, drug, and lead screenings.

• People Operations: Preparing personnel transaction documentation (new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations), conducting exit interviews, processing employee disciplinary actions, and administering employee recognition/perks programs (including badge access systems).

• Benefits Administration: Providing administrative support for FMLA and leave of absence requests while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA.

• General HR Support: Serving as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, managing the HR inbox, maintaining confidential personnel files/HRIS databases, and providing general administrative support to the HR team.

What youll need:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

• Experience: 3+ years of related HR generalist or administrative experience.

• Certifications: Valid Driver's License required; PHR (or similar HR certification) is preferred.

• Core Skills: Knowledge of federal/state employment laws, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and exceptional discretion when handling confidential information.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and experience managing records within an HRIS.

• Physical & Operational Capability: Ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, handle fast-paced decision-making, and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
