About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide executive leadership and oversight of its large-scale transit operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, transportation services, and facilities management across multiple locations, with a strong focus on customer engagement and mobility initiatives. Key responsibilities for the COO include driving safety, security, fleet performance, employee engagement, and service reliability. The role also involves close partnership with executive leadership and regular presentations to governing boards. Experience in zero-emission transportation technologies, federal and state grant programs, and complex multi-site transit operations is highly valued. The ideal COO will have a background in the public transit or transportation industry, with a proven track record of managing large, unionized workforces and leading organizational change while maintaining operational excellence. Strong skills in stakeholder management, employee engagement, and the ability to navigate public-facing issues are essential. The candidate should be adept at preparing and presenting board reports, and have experience with federal and state government funding programs. While not mandatory, experience with zero-emission transit initiatives and a background in California transit are considered advantageous. The role is pivotal in ensuring the company's continued growth and its positive impact on the communities it serves.
