Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous neuro experience is needed. Experience in large Level 1 or Level 2 facilities is required. Description: The position is for a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse. Candidates need to be flexible and can work up to 26 weeks by request. The shift is a 3x12 schedule from 06:45 to 19:15. Candidates must possess experience with strokes, neurosurgery, and neuro-specific diagnoses and complications, as well as complex spine cases. Special procedures include external ventricular drains (EVDs) and therapeutic thermoregulation. The patient ratio during the day is 2:1. Interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Skills required include managing ports, arterial line management, ventilator management, and care of ventilated patients. Candidates should be proficient in central line care, management of dysrhythmias, and infection prevention. Experience with post-operative care, particularly following craniotomy and neurosurgery, is necessary. This role requires the ability to perform various critical care tasks including titrating cardiac drips and IV sedation protocols. Candidates will be expected to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, with additional holiday requirements during winter holidays. Local candidates will not be considered. All compliance documents must be submitted prior to the start date.
