Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Oversee specialized pharmacy operations with a focus on oral dispensing in a structured specialty pharmacy setting. This contract role, spanning 13 weeks or longer, offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent workweek within a dynamic pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions ensuring patient safety and medication integrity
- Verify medication orders and process prescriptions with clinical precision
- Generate and review pharmacy reports for operational efficiency
- Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and quality
- Assist in managing daily pharmacy operations to meet compliance and service standards
- Conduct benefits investigation, prior authorization coordination, and facilitate financial assistance to enhance medication access
- Collaborate with prescribers, payers, patients, and healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Maintain quality assurance, inventory management, and compliance with pharmacy laws and accreditation standards
Qualifications:
- Active, clear Illinois Pharmacist License required
- Proven experience in mid/oral dispensing specialty pharmacy settings
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication dispensing protocols
- Ability to work independently while effectively supervising pharmacy support staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
