Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy professional is needed to oversee the oral dispensing pharmacy operations in Des Plaines, IL. This role is vital in ensuring that prescriptions are processed accurately, medications are dispensed safely, and patients receive thorough counseling and support. The pharmacist will manage all aspects of pharmacy workflow, including benefits investigation, prior authorization coordination, and medication access facilitation. This position demands a blend of clinical expertise, operational management, and collaborative communication with healthcare teams and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill, verify, and dispense prescriptions efficiently and accurately
- Perform clinical reviews of prescriptions and coordinate patient follow-ups
- Manage benefits investigations, prior authorizations, copay and financial assistance programs
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, accreditation standards, policies, and procedures
- Oversee quality assurance and inventory management
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and assist with daily pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with prescribers, payers, patients, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear Illinois Pharmacist License required
- Experience in MID/oral dispensing pharmacy essential
- Solid background in pharmacy operations and medication dispensing
- Proven ability to work independently and supervise pharmacy support staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
