Enterprise Architect

Role Overview Documents, visualizes, and articulates overall technical health, current and target states of Enterprise Architecture in collaboration with domain leadership. Develops roadmaps with domain leadership to incorporate industry trend data for a targeted domain/function, and connect them with the broader Enterprise technology landscape, aligning to industry Enterprise Architecture standards and building a pathway to achieve target state goals. The Business Architect defines and evolves the enterprise’s business architecture to ensure alignment between strategy, operating model, and execution. This role establishes clarity on: What the business is trying to achieve (strategy and outcomes) How value is delivered (value streams) What the business must be able to do (capabilities) The Business Architect serves as the bridge between business strategy and enterprise execution, shaping target‑state models, informing investment decisions, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business value. What You’ll Do Leverage expertise in technical and business strategy to collaborate with Technology domain leadership to support strategic decision making. Provide consultation services to domain leadership to improve technology delivery and operational efficiency. Research and communicate fact‑based recommendations to Master Architects to support the domain in the Enterprise Architecture governance process. Provide thought leadership and build strong stakeholder partnerships to articulate current state, target state and domain roadmap. Partner with delivery teams and domain leadership on architecture areas to include business, application, data, Cloud/infrastructure, security, integration, operations, and support in preparation for S1/S2 leadership meetings and architectural peer group meetings. Research, understand and apply existing, new and emerging technologies and trends to determine their potential impact on technology domains. Translate the enterprise's technology future‑state architecture vision into principles, guidelines, standards and patterns to ensure alignment with broader strategic goals. Identify opportunities and approaches for solving domain problems from a broad enterprise perspective that may include new products, new platforms, or system enhancements for Agile teams and domain leadership to help promote the reuse of existing technical investments and capabilities. Create and maintain reference materials for use by the technical delivery team to ensure consistent and compliant solutions for enterprise level architecture patterns. Participate in the planning and design of strategic initiatives that require architecture guidance. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk‑related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the client’s brand. Maintain the client’s internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. This position will interface with senior leaders, and will need excellent communication skills along with basic knowledge of new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of those trends for strategic use. Translate business strategy into capability, value stream, and initiative roadmaps. Ensure initiatives align to strategic objectives and target outcome. Business Architecture Modeling Develop and maintain business capability maps, value streams, and operating models. Define current‑state and target‑state business architectures. Transformation & Investment Guidance Identify capability gaps and prioritize investments based on business value. Support portfolio planning and initiative prioritization. Enterprise Analysis & Design Assess business processes, structures, and systems for alignment and efficiency. Define business‑driven requirements for transformation efforts. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with executives, product teams, EA, and delivery teams. Facilitate alignment across business and technology stakeholders. Governance & Standards Establish and enforce business architecture standards and frameworks. Ensure traceability from strategy through execution. Collaborate with Enterprise, Solution, and Data Architects to align designs. Ensure business intent is reflected in solution and technology decisions. Additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology. Minimum of 10 years of experience in business architecture, strategy, consulting, or transformation roles. Minimum of 7 years of experience building business architecture artifacts (capability maps, value streams, operating models). Minimum of 7 years of experience working in large, complex enterprises. Minimum of 7 years of experience developing and integrating applications using relevant software architecture principles and patterns. Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, software delivery or solution architecture. Minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Architecture and Operations & Process Optimization. What Sets You Apart Master’s Degree in Business or Technology. Working knowledge of architectural frameworks. Working knowledge of enterprise architecture tools. Certification and experience working with Cloud technologies and vendors. Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience working in the financial services industry. Experience working in two or more technical roles related to banking technical design and roadmap planning. Executive Communication Skills. Certified Business Architect (CBA*) - Business Architecture Guild. TOGAF or equivalent EA certification.
