Human Resources Payroll Coordinator

People Architects is hiring a Temporary HR & Payroll Coordinator to support one of our clients during a busy period of increased HR and payroll activity. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting payroll, timecards, onboarding, leave administration, and HR operations in ADP Workforce Now . The right person will be able to step in, stay calm in a busy environment, and help keep important HR processes accurate, timely, and moving forward. There is potential to go full time.
What You’ll Do
- Support biweekly payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now
- Review and resolve timecard issues for hourly, salaried, seasonal, union, and non-union employees
- Help ensure accurate payroll coding for leaves, benefit deductions, employee changes, and status updates
- Support leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, workers’ compensation, parental leave, and unpaid leave
- Track leave documentation and follow up on required paperwork
- Process new hires, onboarding workflows, offer letters, background checks, badge requests, IT requests, and orientation details
- Support onboarding for incoming hires
- Process terminations and offboarding updates in ADP
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data
- Provide general HR administrative support as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or HR administration
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now , especially payroll and onboarding
- Experience reviewing timecards and supporting payroll accuracy
- Working knowledge of leave administration and employee documentation
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and discretion with confidential information
- Experience with union and non-union employee populations, or within nonprofit, museum, education, or mission-driven organizations, is a plus.
