Job DescriptionConcrete Foreman – Lead Concrete Crews on Long-Term Construction Projects for Heartbeat Development\n\nJob Overview\n\n Company: Heartbeat Development\n Salary/Pay Rate: $35 to $50 per hour plus performance-based bonus\n Location: Mount Vernon, MO and surrounding project sites\n Job/Employment Type: Full Time\n Project Scope: Residential, recreational, light commercial, site development, cabins, RV parks, metal buildings, quad-plexes, and property redevelopment\n Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None required\n Preferred: Valid driver’s license, Class E or CDL a plus, bilingual English/Spanish a plus\n\n\nThe Opportunity\nHeartbeat Development is growing quickly and has a long-term pipeline of construction work across the Mount Vernon, MO region. We are looking for an experienced Concrete Foreman who can lead crews, coordinate pours, solve field issues, and help us bring more concrete work in-house.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands concrete from layout through finish. Our projects include slabs, piers, sidewalks, foundations, site improvements, and specialty opportunities such as pool-related concrete work. The right person will have steady work, strong pay potential, and the opportunity to help build and train a growing field team.\n\nHow You Will Make an Impact\n\n Lead concrete crews on daily field operations, including layout, forming, pouring, finishing, curing, and cleanup.\n Read and interpret drawings, site plans, measurements, grades, and specifications.\n Coordinate concrete deliveries, pump trucks, material needs, tools, and crew assignments.\n Plan daily work around weather, delivery timing, site access, and project priorities.\n Build and check forms, sub-base preparation, grade, slope, layout, and finish quality.\n Train and mentor laborers and junior crew members on safe, efficient concrete practices.\n Communicate clearly with project managers, field leaders, and ownership on schedule, blockers, and progress.\n Maintain safe jobsites and reinforce proper PPE, equipment use, and OSHA-aligned practices.\n Help identify strong laborers who can grow into lead or foreman-level roles.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\n\n Proven concrete field experience with the ability to lead crews and direct daily work.\n Strong knowledge of concrete placement, forming, sub-base prep, finishing, curing, and quality control.\n Ability to read plans, measurements, and specifications and turn them into field execution.\n Experience coordinating labor, materials, deliveries, and equipment.\n Strong communication skills with field crews, project leaders, and support teams.\n Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding construction environments.\n Reliability, accountability, and strong judgment on active jobsites.\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience\n\n 5+ years of concrete construction experience.\n Prior foreman, lead, or crew leadership experience.\n Experience with slabs, piers, sidewalks, foundations, pools, or specialty concrete.\n Experience scheduling pours and coordinating pump trucks.\n Bilingual English/Spanish.\n Valid driver’s license, Class E, or CDL.\n Military or veteran background is welcomed.\n\n\nCompensation & Benefits\n\n Weekly pay cycle.\n Performance-based bonus and project completion incentive opportunities.\n Referral bonus program.\n Company-provided tools and vehicles may be available depending on role, project, and qualifications.\n Tool replacement support.\n Training and certification opportunities, including OSHA, fall protection, equipment lifts, and safety training.\n Paid training, mentorship, and advancement opportunities.\n Relocation assistance, housing, travel support, or per diem may be available for select higher-level candidates or projects.\n Long-term project pipeline with local work where employees generally go home each night.\n Annual company events and team activities.\n\n\nAbout Us\nHeartbeat Development is a fast-growing construction and development company with a strong pipeline of projects in the Mount Vernon, MO region.
