Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with educational interpreting standards
- Hold current relevant certifications (such as EIPA, RID, or state certification)
- Experience interpreting in K-12 school environments highly preferred
- Strong understanding of classroom dynamics and the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Excellent communication ability, adaptable to diverse student populations and faculty
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical interpreting practices
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate interpreting services during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and school functions
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure access to course material and communication
- Support students with varying language preferences and learning styles
- Prepare in advance by reviewing lesson plans and materials as needed
- Advocate for students’ language access and make recommendations for optimal communication support
- Maintain timely records of services provided, following school or district guidelines
