The firm serves the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets and pursues growth across the U.S. Job Title Associate Underwriter II Essential Responsibilities Make independent decisions regarding rating of policies/accounts and discount eligibility using applicable rating manuals and written underwriting processes. Make decisive risk selection decisions within authority limits to approve, refer, or reject all transactions. Respond to all correspondence, including email and telephone inquiries, from agents and third parties in a timely manner. Identify and address submission requirement issues with agents to mitigate policy cancellations and/or non-renewals. Correspond with various state agencies to update insurance records for American National clients. Present recommendations for improvements to systems and processes to increase efficiency and streamline policy/account handling. Research state-specific policies and guidelines to address agent inquiries. Qualifications / Experience Required High school diploma. Minimum of one year of work experience. Close attention to detail. Strong decision‑making skills. Excellent communication skills, in English, both written and verbal. Salary Base hourly pay range for Albany location: $16.00 – $23.40 per hour. Salaries in other locations may differ based on local cost of labor.
