Senior Accountant

Pacific Staffing is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a rapidly growing organization known for its operational excellence and commitment to accurate, timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant oversees key financial operations—including general ledger management, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support—and applies strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all accounting activities. Salary: $110,000 to $125,000 (DOE)Fully remote; candidates located in Northern California are preferred.Direct Hire Key Responsibilities Manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other general ledger transactions.Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations.Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports.Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.Support AP, AR, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other core accounting functions.Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.Strengthen internal accounting controls, procedures, and documentation.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial information.Take ownership of assigned accounting processes and consistently meet deadlines. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a Senior Accountant or similar role.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.Demonstrated experience with month-end and year-end close processes.Proven ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and identify root causes.Advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and related functions).Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar.Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.CPA certification or active progress toward CPA is a plus.Public accounting or Big Four experience highly desired.Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
