Senior Staff Accountant

Overview Senior Staff Accountant - Manufacturing Industry Location: Sacramento, CA Employment Type: Full-Time | On-site Recruiting Through: Ledgent Finance & Accounting Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in the Sacramento region that is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant . This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong manufacturing industry expertise and full-cycle accounting capabilities. Responsibilities Perform full-cycle general ledger management , including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close with accuracy and timely reporting Assist with cost accounting functions , including labor, overhead, materials, and inventory review Prepare and analyze WIP schedules , job costing, and production variance reports Manage multi‑entity accounting and intercompany transactions (as applicable) Partner with operations and production departments to ensure accurate financial data Assist with audit preparation , financial statements, and internal controls Support process improvements and recommend efficiencies in accounting workflows Qualifications 3-6+ years of accounting experience, with required background in manufacturing Strong understanding of inventory, costing, production accounting, or WIP Proficiency in ERP or manufacturing accounting systems Advanced Excel skills preferred Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, warehouse, and production leadership Why This Opportunity Is Attractive Growing, stable manufacturing organization Opportunity to expand into cost accounting or senior-level finance functions Hands-on exposure to operational accounting, production workflows, and multi-department support Competitive compensation and strong benefits package All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
