Specimen Management Associate

Specimen Management Associate processes incoming clinical specimens, maintains chain of custody documentation, and manages storage and shipping operations. The role requires attention to detail, LIMS system proficiency, and compliance with standard operating procedures in a healthcare laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unpack specimen shipments while maintaining appropriate temperature controls
• Enter subject demographics and visit details into LIMS system and verify accuracy
• Document specimen quality assessments and any deviations from standards
• Prepare shipments with required paperwork and manifests for timely delivery
• Dispose of residual specimens according to company policy and local regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with proof of insurance
• 2+ years production environment experience, preferably healthcare or pharmaceutical
• 2+ years experience with enterprise-grade LIMS or similar systems, preferred
• Ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods
• Strong written and oral English communication skills
• Willingness to work rotating weekend shifts and second shift Tuesday-Saturday
