PROGRAM REGISTERED NURSE (RN) or LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

These positions are to care for the medical needs of students placed in a BOCES classroom located in a special education host site program. Assistance with all medical aspects of the student's day is expected. Responsibilities Assist students with daily living skills including toileting, personal care, feeding, maintaining safety during transitions, redirection, task initiation, communication, interaction with others, and supervision for sensory activities and routines. Perform daily tube feeding for students. Provide constant monitoring during and after feeding. Conduct regular assessment of respiratory needs. Dispense medications under the direction of an RN. Complete Medicaid paperwork under the direction of an RN. Assist with student arrival and departure. Help students carry out prescribed physical exercises. Assist students with daily living skills/hygiene. Follow medical protocol. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse license. Physically able and willing to meet the needs of the students. Experience working with disabled students is preferred. TCI training is required for this position.
