Full-Time Regular Payroll & Accounting Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple locations
- Review time records, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and payroll adjustments
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Administer garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions
- Reconcile payroll reports and support audit requests
- Coordinate employee payroll changes with internal stakeholders
- Prepare and file indirect tax returns and ensure timely compliance with filing requirements
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Respond to tax notices and maintain supporting documentation
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Research and resolve accounting variances
- Support internal and external audits
- Maintain accurate financial records and adhere to internal controls
- 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or related financial experience
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax filings preferred
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and accounting practices
- Experience with payroll and accounting software systems
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Professional payroll certification or related credentials
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments
- Familiarity with tax automation or compliance software
