WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead all on‑site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily field operations while managing subcontractors, vendors, and project schedules Foster strong working relationships with clients, project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, and construction documents to ensure accurate project execution Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to keep projects moving forward Conduct and document daily jobsite activities, safety meetings, inspections, and progress updates Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and project‑specific requirements Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities Maintain open, professional communication with internal teams and clients throughout the life of the project Represent Shames Construction with professionalism and integrity on every jobsite WHAT YOU BRING Required Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of commercial construction experience 3–5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent Experience managing ground‑up construction , tenant improvements , and commercial remodels Experience leading projects such as: Big‑box retail Open‑store remodels Grocery stores Restaurants Entertainment venues Proven ability to successfully manage multiple subcontractors and maintain productive jobsite relationships Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, safety regulations, and quality control Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents Strong leadership, organizational, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other construction management software Self‑starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams Reliable transportation Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record Must be willing and able to travel throughout California Preferred Qualifications Experience with fast‑track commercial construction projects Experience managing occupied/open‑store renovations Experience working with nationally recognized retail brands OSHA 30 Certification (preferred) CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred) WHY JOIN SHAMES CONSTRUCTION Build projects for nationally recognized retail, grocery, restaurant, industrial, and entertainment clients Join a financially stable, family‑owned commercial general contractor with nearly 40 years of industry success Work alongside experienced project managers and executive leadership who value collaboration and field expertise Be empowered to lead your projects while making a meaningful impact on every jobsite Enjoy a culture built on integrity, accountability, teamwork, and long‑term relationships Opportunities for continued professional growth and advancement At Shames Construction, we value leaders who lead by example. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary: $75,000 – $130,000 per year DOE Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO), and 7 paid holidays Shames Construction Company is an equal opportunity employer.
