Accounting Specialist: Dixon, Illinois

Our customer in Dixon, Illinois, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join their team. We're recruiting for a full-time, 1st Shift opportunity with a well-established manufacturing organization. As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in accounts receivable, cash application, and payroll administration while ensuring financial records remain accurate and compliant.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist:

• Process customer invoicing and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Verify invoices, research billing discrepancies, and coordinate resolutions with internal departments.
• Apply customer payments, reconcile cash receipts, and investigate payment variances.
• Prepare reports, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with month-end and year-end reconciliations.
• Maintain employee payroll records and process authorized payroll updates, including wage changes, deductions, benefits, bonuses, and tax elections.
• Coordinate payroll-related employee changes with Human Resources, including new hires, terminations, and compensation updates.
• Ensure all financial and payroll transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Support accounting functions through accurate recordkeeping, reporting, and administrative financial processes.

Accounting Specialist Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, or a similar financial role.
• Experience processing payroll and accounts receivable transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting, payroll, or ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.
• Experience with SAGE and/or Epicor ERP systems is a plus.
• Related industry or product knowledge preferred.

Pay for Accounting Specialist: Starting at $22-$27/hour, based on experience. Accounting Specialist Benefits:
