Project Manager - Annuity Domain

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Life Insurance and Annuity domain expertise to lead end-to-end business and technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing projects involving annuity products, policy administration systems, regulatory initiatives, system enhancements, conversions, and operational improvements . This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, actuarial teams, compliance, operations, finance, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of Life Insurance and Annuity projects , including product launches, system enhancements, regulatory initiatives, conversions, and operational improvements.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, RAID logs, dependencies, and status reports .
Coordinate cross-functional teams across Actuarial, Operations, Compliance, Finance, IT, Business Analysis, QA, and external vendors .
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and change requests.
Conduct project kickoffs, status meetings, retrospectives, and steering committee meetings.
Provide regular project updates and executive-level reporting to senior stakeholders.
Partner with Business Analysts and business teams during requirements gathering and ensure requirements are tracked through development, testing, and UAT.
Coordinate UAT, implementation, cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post-production support .
Manage risks, dependencies, escalations, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure projects comply with applicable insurance regulations and guidelines, including State DOI, NAIC, suitability, and best-interest requirements .
Manage third-party vendors and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
Drive projects using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies .

Required Qualifications

8+ years of Project Management experience in enterprise environments.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Life Insurance and/or Annuity domains .
Strong knowledge of the annuity and insurance policy lifecycle .
Experience with Fixed Annuities, Fixed Indexed Annuities, and/or Variable Annuities .
Experience managing projects involving policy administration systems .
Experience with platforms such as FAST, LifePRO, EXL LifePRO, Majesco, Sapiens , or similar insurance platforms.
Strong experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies .
Hands-on experience with Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet , or similar project management tools.
Experience with requirements management, testing, UAT, implementation, and production rollout .
Strong stakeholder management, vendor management, communication, and executive reporting skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science , or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certification .
LOMA certifications , such as FLMI or ACS.
Experience managing regulatory/compliance projects within the insurance industry.
Experience with policy administration system conversions, migrations, or modernization projects .
Experience working with major Life Insurance/Annuity carriers such as Banner Life, Legal & General, Brighthouse Financial, Lincoln Financial, Athene , or similar organizations.
