Senior Payroll Accountant

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with a strong accounting background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with large data sets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and advanced Excel skills to support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and month-end activities. This role offers $43-$45 per hour based on experience.
Key Responsibilities

• Process and review multi-state payroll accurately and timely.
  
• Reconcile payroll accounts, deductions, taxes, and benefit-related transactions.
  
• Prepare and maintain payroll journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  
• Generate payroll reports and analyze payroll data using advanced Excel functions.
  
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and employee inquiries.
  
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  
• Maintain and update employee payroll records within Oracle.
  
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
  
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  
• 4+ years of payroll and accounting experience.
  
• Strong experience working with Oracle ERP/Oracle Payroll .
  
• Advanced Excel skills including:
  
  • Pivot Tables
    
  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    
  • Complex formulas and data analysis
    
  • Reporting and reconciliation functions
    
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  

Pay Details: $40.00 to $43.00 per hour
