As a participant, you’ll work alongside experienced engineering consultants, project managers, and subject‑matter experts, gaining hands‑on experience across a variety of impactful projects. Graduate Electrical Engineer – Responsibilities Graduate Engineer will be assigned to support the primary discipline design engineer, modifying or creating technical specifications, calculations, and drawings for power‑line projects. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, regional, and local laws and requirements, including NESC, NES, and RUS. Adhering to client standards and specifications. Designing lines under the guidance of a senior engineer using manual methods and Power‑Line Systems (PLS), Suite of software. Collaborating with Engineering Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Supervisors to develop project products, calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports. Maintaining technical soundness and compliance with Engineering Project Procedures and contract requirements. Verifying quality and compliance of deliverables. Performing thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches. Implementing continuous improvement in engineering knowledge, skills, and performance. Ensuring accurate records, files, and design review compliance. Eligibility and Technical Skills Desired: Background in power‑system design for AC underground and overhead lines. Desired: Experience in high‑voltage, extra‑high‑voltage, DC overhead and underground lines. Required: Strong familiarity with the MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desired: Experience with CDEGS, PLS CADD, CymCAPP, ETAP, AutoCAD, Bentley, etc. Required: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and the Microsoft Office suite. Other Pertinent Data P.E. License: Not required, but the candidate must be authorized to obtain one within four years. EIT exam passing score preferred. Preferred Degree: BS Electrical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines considered. Location: Austin, TX – reliable commute to the office is required; hybrid working policy applies.
