Sous Chef — Sloopy's Diner (Ohio State Campus, Columbus, OH) $20.00–$25.00/hr based on experience Sloopy's Diner is hiring an experienced Sous Chef to run the line alongside our Chef. This is a hands-on kitchen role in a high-volume campus location — you'll be cooking, expediting, and keeping the back of house moving through rush. What you'll do Run the line during service and step in wherever the kitchen needs coverage Support the Chef with prep lists, ordering, and inventory Hold the line on food quality, portioning, and plating standards Lead and train kitchen staff on shift; set the pace and the tone Maintain food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs to health code Open or close the kitchen as scheduled What we're looking for Prior sous chef, kitchen lead, or senior line cook experience Comfortable on every station and able to jump between them under pressure Knife skills, scratch prep, and a real sense of timing Dependable, on time, and steady when the rush hits Available nights and weekends; campus schedule follows the academic calendar ServSafe certification a plus — we'll help you get it if you don't have it Why Sloopy's Competitive hourly pay with room to move up Consistent hours and a stable schedule Independently operated restaurant on the Ohio State campus — not affiliated with or employed by the university Growing company with advancement across multiple locations #J-18808-Ljbffr Athenian Grill - North Locust Hill
