Job Title

RN - Emergency Room (Epic)

Location

San Luis Obispo, CA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 36–48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for Emergency Department patients across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics
• Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on acuity and clinical presentation
• Administer treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
• Coordinate and execute discharge planning and discharge care for ED patients
• Accurately document patient care activities and clinical findings using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
• Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent required
• Minimum one year of acute care experience required
• Current Epic EMR experience required; Cerner experience within the last 5 years required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire or transfer

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior experience working in an organization undergoing an Epic EMR conversion or implementation
