Senior Sous Chef

Recipe Philly is a first-of-its-kind restaurant concept: a full-service dining experience based on the principles of Heirloom Hospitality. Our menu is built from real family recipes, surfaced through a citywide competition and accompanying TV series. The food here means something. So does the team behind it.

We're looking for an experienced Evening Sous Chef to lead production through lunch and dinner service. This person keeps the kitchen running when it counts most, staying organized, standards-driven, and steady when the pace picks up. You'll work closely with prep and line cooks to make sure everything coming out of this kitchen reflects the care that went into creating it.

What you'll do

• Oversee preparation and production of all menu items across the full evening service
• Hold the team to recipe standards and kitchen SOPs without micromanaging
• Maintain a sharp eye on presentation and taste quality across all production
• Train prep and line cooks (“Meal Preparation Specialists”) and follow through on accountability
• Keep your station and the broader kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready
• Label, date, and store products correctly every time
• Restock supplies and anticipate what the team needs before they have to ask
• Motivate the people around you to take pride in what they're making
• Jump in alongside prep and line cooks when the team needs an extra set of hands

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of experience in a comparable leadership role
• High-volume, high-quality kitchen experience
• Thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and manages time well under pressure
• Brings creativity to work while staying true to the recipes and standards in front of you
• Solid understanding of weights, measures, and preparation techniques
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and modern culinary techniques
• Philadelphia Food Safety certificate (or ability to obtain one)
• Experience with food cost, labor management, and basic P&L awareness
• Comfortable working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Communicates clearly with the team and with leadership
• Open to feedback and able to apply it
• A collaborative mindset, a steady presence, and genuine investment in the people you lead
