Executive Director
Immigrant Hope
The Executive Director serves as the primary spiritual and organizational leader of the ministry at Immigrant Hope-Mesa, guiding its daily operations, staff, and programs in alignment with the mission God has entrusted to the organization. This role blends strategic leadership with pastoral sensitivity—ensuring that the ministry remains Christ-centered, mission-focused, and sustainably resourced. The Executive Director partners closely with the Board of Directors, providing vision, clarity, and faithful stewardship as the organization seeks to serve others and glorify God. Immigrant Hope-Mesa's office is open 4 days/week, 24 hours/week. This is an in-office position, reporting to the Board of Directors. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Lead IH-M Strategies - Provide strategic direction to ensure the successful day-to-day management, growth and sustainability of IH-M according to IH-M’s strategy plan. Lead IH-M Initiatives – Provide strategic direction to ensure the successful management and healthy sustainable growth of services according to IH-M’s purpose and mission statement. Provide direction and oversight to the development of IH-M’s membership, including recruitment, training, resources, and relationships with other association, and governmental entities Lead IH-M Team – Develop IH-M’s leadership team to ensure business strategies, programs, policies, resources, and overall direction for the organization are being developed in tune with IH-M’s vision, utilizing every available resource. Protect IH-M Assets – Maintain oversight of IH-M risk management and compliance with all statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements regarding bylaws, policies, employee health, safety and employment. Represent IH-M - Serve as the lead public spokesperson for the organization, developing strategic relationships across all relevant public and private sectors, and exercise all responsibilities in a professional manner. IH-M Board Representative - Serve as ex-officio, non-voting member of the IH-M Board of Directors. SPECIFIC DUTIES Supervise all staff and oversee their subsequent work responsibilities. Maintain an inclusive working relationship with the Board of Directors, staff, academic partners, members and donors that emphasizes open dialogue, complete transparency, professional rapport and a unified approach. Oversee the stewardship and management of IH-M finances, including ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applicable to a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Develop and maintain donor, partner, and business relationships that support the initiatives, operational excellence, and fiscal health of IH-M. Oversee the development, implementation and management of an effective human resources program, including compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, as well as fostering a positive, productive and proactive work environment. Oversee the development, implementation and management of all IH-M conferences, courses, trainings, special events, communication tools, and work products, to include establishing and monitoring key performance indicators, metrics and measurement tools to monitor progress. Assist the Board of Directors in the development, implementation and management of the IH-M Fund Development Program. Assist the Board of Directors in the development, implementation and management of the IH-M Policies and Procedures, in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations applicable to a 501c3 nonprofit organization and consistent with best management practices. Foster and retain professional relationships with industry trade organizations, academic partners, legal immigration firms, key business/university leaders, service providers, as well as outside public and governmental agencies. Assume special activities and responsibilities as directed by the Board of Directors. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES GUIDELINES The following leadership competencies, plus a combination of the listed experience and education, would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to meet the demands of the position. Experience: Minimum seven to ten years of non-profit management and fund development experience is desirable, preferably within a comparable business environment. Experience in directing and managing company and staff growth. Expertise in sourcing, initiating, and managing partnerships and other collaborative business agreements. Ability to ensure company-wide analysis and use of financial data, statements and projections. Expertise in ensuring the formulation and completion of company strategic initiatives aligned with company mission and vision and values. High level of written and oral communication skills. Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills. Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major course work in business administration/management, public policy and/or a related field. Prefer a graduate degree in related field, such as an MBA, and/or relevant combination of education and experience. Immigration Law: Partial legal immigration accreditation is preferred but not required with two-year minimum experience in legal immigration issues and processes. Willingness to satisfactorily complete a 40-hour legal immigration course will be required. Therefore, this position will require a person who openly professes to have placed their faith in Christ for salvation, demonstrates the fruit of that relationship with God through Christ in their daily life, and fully embraces the doctrinal statement of Immigrant Hope - Mesa. Office environment; works with computers; uses telephone extensively. Travel to various functions in vehicles or other transportation. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for IH-M member site visits, training and conference events, and IH-M representation in external meetings and events.
