Food Services Field Supervisor

The Food Services Field Supervisor oversees and inspects all District cafeterias and kitchens to monitor and ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines.

Essential Functions:

• Inspects all District cafeterias regularly to ensure food quality and compliance with food service and health code regulations and standards.
• Recommends hires and assigns part time employees.
• Serves as a resource for cafeteria staff; assists in addressing and resolving food service issues.
• Reviews reports and other paperwork.
• Works with cafeteria staff to improve production methods and services.
• Taste tests new products, food, and drinks.
• Monitors the condition and cleanliness of food service equipment; requests repairs or replacement as needed.
• Services and maintains cash registers and computers.
• Distributes work orders and follows up on job completion.
• Assists with special board events and works nights and weekends as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND two years of experience in the food service industry and two years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must possess valid Maricopa County Food Handler's card and certification.
• A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Skill in planning, prioritizing, and completing assignments with minimum supervision.
• Skill in understanding, explaining, and applying relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Skill in operating a variety of commercial kitchen appliances.
• Ability to identify and correct safety hazards and health code violations in school cafeterias and kitchens.
• Ability to maintain compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Skill in coordinating the efforts of individuals and teams to complete projects and tasks.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to provide excellent customer experiences, including but not limited to interacting tactfully and courteously with the public.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Work is performed in a commercial kitchen environment and requires exposure to hot and cold temperatures, potentially dangerous equipment, and hazardous chemicals. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
