Patient Service Representative

Temporary to hire position based on performance. Candidates must want to convert to a full-time position. Weekly schedule will include one late shift from 12 PM to 8:30 PM. Three shifts will range from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM. Saturdays will alternate every four weeks from 8 AM to 12 PM. Employees will leave early on Thursdays if working Saturday to make 40 hours. Schedules will be available two weeks in advance.

Position Overview:

• Answer patient calls and handle inquiries promptly.
• Follow protocols and service standards.
• Schedule appointments in person or by phone.
• Confirm appointment details and reschedule or cancel as needed.
• Manage patient arrival and departure activities.
• Collect co-pays and obtain insurance cards and signatures.
• Update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Communicate wait times and patient flow to both patients and staff.

Financial Administrative Tasks:

• Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits.
• Obtain pre-authorizations, referrals, and coordinate benefits.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety.

Customer Experience:

• Anticipate patient needs and resolve issues promptly.
• Build positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.

Training:

• Complete a four-day training program on the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Pass an assessment at the end of the training week.
• Complete a 15-minute training module on regulatory compliance.
• Candidates with experience in electronic medical records (EMR) are preferred.
